HENDERSONVILLE – Following approval by the Henderson County Board of Public Education in June, Henderson County Public Schools announced Carolyn Henderson is the new principal at Hendersonville Elementary School for the 2024-25 school year. 

Henderson is no stranger to HCPS or Hendersonville Elementary School. She previously served as an instructional coach there, and also at Hillandale, Atkinson, and Bruce Drysdale Elementary schools between 2011 and 2021. 

Before her appointment at Hendersonville Elementary, Henderson served as the assistant principal at Bruce Drysdale Elementary School since July 2021. 

Henderson holds a Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and has been named Teacher of the Year twice: at Balfour Elementary School in 2000 and at Hillandale Elementary School in 2009.
