HENDERSONVILLE - Henderson County Pathfinders Program will embark on its inaugural year at East Henderson High School and Flat Rock Middle School.
Spearheaded by Henderson County Education Foundation, this program was created to support the development of students in Henderson County Public Schools. HCPP is a mentorship program that places middle and high school students with a community mentor who will provide individualized support throughout their journey from grades 7 to 12. It developed as a result of a public community meeting held in the summer of 2023 and was inspired by a similar program in Rutherford County.
In celebration of this milestone, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on September 25 at 9:00 AM at East Henderson High School's Media Center. The ceremony will feature remarks from HCPP Program Director Maggie Gilliam, Commissioner Rebecca McCall, and Henderson County Superintendent Mark Garrett. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the mentoring space, enjoy refreshments, and participate in a meet-and-greet with HCPP mentors and HCPS staff.
