Two Western North Carolina organizations were recognized by Land Rover's 2024 Defender Service Awards for their outstanding service to the local community. Linville-Central Search & Rescue Squad was presented with the Search, Rescue & Emergency Support Services Award, and Appalachian Wildlife Refuge was presented with the Defender Service Honorees Award. The organizations received $25,000 each and their own customized Land Rover Defender 130s to support their vital missions.
