Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte a Christian ministry of charity, service, and justice dedicated to providing help to those in need, hope to those in despair, and inspiration for others to follow. You don't have to be Catholic to be served by Catholic Charities. We just help people in need. The Western Region Office of Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte serves people in need in the 12 westernmost counties of North Carolina: Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Yancey, Haywood, Transylvania, Jackson, Swain, Graham, Clay, Macon, and Cherokee. Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte serves people in need in the western half of the state (46 counties) through regional offices in Asheville, Murphy, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Lenoir. Our programs in western North Carolina include a Food Pantry on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in Asheville that distributes fresh food (meat, produce, vegetables, eggs, bread, and other staple items) along with diapers, toiletries, and hygiene products. We also offered bilingual clinical mental health counseling services in English in Spanish in person in Asheville and virtually on a sliding fee scale. Case management, immigration, refugee resettlement, elder ministry, and other services are provided as well. You don't have to be Catholic to work, volunteer, or intern at Catholic Charities. We just serve people in need.
